A Not-for-profit grass roots group help us help the kids of kenya
‘ANGELS FOR AFRICA’ consists of a group of volunteers in a suburb of Adelaide, who make and sell stained glass items to raise money for schools in the outskirts of Kisumu, in some of the poorest areas in Kenya.
Sallie is a stained glass artist who started raising money for Africa around 25 years ago to help her daughter with projects in Africa. She is responsible for designing all of the items which are made and packed by the group in her studio in Millswood, South Australia.
Maurice’s major role is to deal with all the numbers. He is our resident accountant and knows exactly how much money has been received at any time and exactly which items have been purchased. He also knows where each item is, either in stock or somewhere in the community.
Volunteers arrive weekly and some work all week too, to manufacture the items which are then sold by
Am important team of salespeople who skilfully take on the arduous job of selling the lovely glasswork created in our studio in Millswood. Two generous retailers give us space in their retail outlet at no cost!
We depend on the generosity of people who have coloured glass, and sometimes equipment, languishing in the shed, relics of a former hobby. Since inception we have not had to buy glass for this project!
